Sylvia’s queen room is comfortable and inviting with its bold, four poster canopy bed.
This Mahogany Bed features, stalks of rice carved on the bedposts and the canopy is draped in lace.
Did you know that a owning a “Rice Bed” would signify a plantation owner’s principal source of wealth as the posts on his 4-post bed were carved with depictions of his money crop of rice or tobacco. This symbol of wealth became known as a rice bed or plantation bed in the 18th century. This 1905 inn was never a plantation of wealth, as we are located only four blocks from Historic Downtown Hot Springs, but we do feature an abundance of history as this property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This wonderful room boasts a private bathroom with a walk in shower, an antique mahogany dresser with mother of pearl handles and a ceramic log fireplace with original light fixtures above the mantel. The custom designed stained glass transom above the door displays a rose to compliment the two original rose tiles on the fireplace.
